Mahi Mahi

Also known as Dolphin Fish or Dorado

Mahi Mahi such as this beautifully coloured example are common on our shelf trips.    A spectacular fighting fish, the Mahi Mahi's unbelievable colours are matched by their excellent table quality.

This fish took out the trophy for Best Mahi Mahi at the prestigious Hamilton Island Billfish & Fishing Bonanza.

Giant Trevally

Also known as a GT or Ulua

After dinner lagoon livebait action.

Estimated at around 75 kg, the client fought and landed this enormous Giant Trevally (known locally as a GT) following a 3/4 hour battle on 15 kg standup tackle.

The fish was definitely World Record Class.

Wahoo

Wahoo are known as one of the fastest fish in the ocean.  The sight of a large Wahoo, silver sides lit up with flashing blue neon stripes as it attacks bait or lure, will never be forgotten.

This 47 kg (103 lb) Wahoo was taken aboard Black Samurai  by Dr. Adam Cannon at Marion Reef in the Coral Sea Territories.

Sailfish

The colors of this magnificent Pacific Sailfish illustrate one of the reasons why they are such a sought after prize by blue water sportfishing anglers.

All Sailfish caught aboard Black Samurai are released after being tagged for scientific research.
