Carissa
landed this 31.0 kg (68.2 lb) Spanish Mackerel
on a day fishing trip from Mackay
with her family aboard Black Samurai. A
number of fish of this class were taken by Black Samurai anglers
during recent seasons.

Dogtooth Tuna - 81 kg (178 lb)
Angler Dale Stanbury
of Sydney, Australia. This fish is the dual Australian (GFAA) record
holder. The
Coral Sea is home to the mighty Dogtooth Tuna. One of the toughest
fighters of all. These monsters sort out any weak links in the
tackle chain.
This
"Doggie" ate a hot pink Pakula Guru lure. The 178
lb dual Australian record fish took 40 minutes to bring to gaff.

angler Jake Warner, Sydney, Australia caught this Shark Mackerel at
Liff Reef. A very determined angler, Jake had two captures
self-disqualified for rule infringments before landing this fish.

matched by their excellent table quality. This
fish took out the trophy for Best Mahi Mahi at the prestigious Hamilton
Island Billfish & Fishing Bonanza.

Giant Trevally

known as a GT or Ulua
After
dinner lagoon livebait action.
Estimated at around 75 kg, the
client fought and landed this enormous Giant Trevally (known locally as
a GT) following a 3/4 hour battle on 15 kg standup tackle.
The fish was definitely
World Record Class.

Wahoo
Wahoo
are known as one of the fastest fish in the ocean. The sight of a
large Wahoo, silver sides lit up with flashing blue neon stripes as it
attacks bait or lure, will never be forgotten.
This
47 kg (103 lb) Wahoo was taken aboard Black Samurai by Dr. Adam
Cannon at Marion Reef in the Coral Sea Territories.

Sailfish
The
colors
of this magnificent Pacific Sailfish illustrate one of the reasons why they are
such a sought after prize by blue water sportfishing anglers.
All Sailfish caught
aboard Black Samurai are released after being tagged for scientific
research.

Black Samurai confirmed its top position on the
Mackay Leader Board as the crew have already bagged more than ten fish over the magic
60 lb mark this season and a couple over 70 lb.
Caught on
15 kg tackle, this monster
Spanish
Mackerel weighed 33.2 kg (73 lb). On
light tackle
these fish provide excellent sport fishing for both novice and veteran.
Our
special bait rigging techniques and use of the downrigger ensure more
hits and a great strike/catch ratio.
